About Me
Abhishek Sharma - Founder of Indian Yoga Guide
I’m Abhishek Sharma, raised in a traditional Brahmin family in Mumbai and immersed early in India’s cultural heritage. My journey with yoga began in 2016, when I battled depression, anxiety, and physical challenges, which led me to a transformative 14‑month, 900‑hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in Classical Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga.

During that time, I immersed myself in the timeless wisdom of yoga philosophy—including the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and Sankhya philosophy—while also developing a strong foundation in advanced asanas and teaching methodology. But beyond technique and theory, what changed me most was the shift in how I perceived the mind, consciousness, and life itself. Studying yoga in this way gave me a new lens to understand human experience—one rooted in awareness, clarity, and balance. Moreover, it transformed my body, leaving it fit, light, and strong, free from disease. It wasn’t just knowledge; it became a way of living. That experience continues to shape the way I teach today, blending deep insight with grounded, accessible practice.

Over the past eight years, I have travelled extensively—teaching yoga both online and offline to diverse communities, constantly deepening my understanding of what makes a genuine yoga journey. As an insider who knows the best authentic yoga teacher training and retreat programs in India and Bali, I want to guide you to the yoga experience that fits your path.

The Creation of Indian Yoga Guide: Connecting Yoga Seekers with Trusted Yoga Schools
While traveling and teaching, I observed that many aspiring yogis were disappointed by their school choices—often misled by superficial programs and conflicting online reviews from institutions that lack proper discipline, experienced teachers, or a solid legacy, focusing instead on business. This recurring challenge inspired me to create Indian Yoga Guide, a unique service that begins with a free consultation to understand your goals and then offers personalized guidance to help you select the right Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course (200h, 300h, 500h YTTC) or Wellness Yoga Retreat in India, tailored to your individual needs.

With a foundation rooted in traditional study and years of experience guiding students around the world, I offer honest, informed, and personalized recommendations—backed by deep knowledge of which schools truly deliver what they promise. Whether you’re looking for a rigorous, immersive course or a more flexible, relaxed retreat, I’m here to help you make a confident, clear, and meaningful choice.
