That decision alone takes courage and self-trust to enroll in Teacher Training Course

Now comes the big question: “What is it actually like?”

I’ve guided, taught, and observed hundreds of students go through their first TTC in India — and whether it’s in the mountains or near the ocean, the journey has a rhythm of its own. Below is a week-by-week breakdown of what you might experience — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — during your 200-hour TTC.

Let’s walk through it together.

Week 1: New World, New You

Routine:

  • Early mornings (often 6 AM starts)

  • Hatha or Ashtanga classes

  • Philosophy & anatomy lectures

  • Sattvic meals

Meditation & mantra chanting ( often 6 PM ends)

What you might feel: Everything is new — from the food to the schedule to sitting cross-legged for hours. There’s excitement, curiosity, and maybe a little culture shock (especially if you’re in India for the first time). Your body will likely feel sore, your mind a bit overwhelmed, and your emotions... open.

Advice from me: Don’t try to “get everything” right away. Breathe. Absorb. Stay open.

Week 2: The Inner Shift Begins

Routine: Now you know the rhythm. Your body starts adjusting. You might be surprised at your flexibility improving already.

What you might feel: This is the week where many students face emotional waves. Old memories surface. Tears come without clear reasons. You might feel raw or sensitive — and that’s okay. It’s not just your body detoxing — your emotional layers are softening too.

Advice from me: Let it happen. Don’t suppress it. Yoga brings awareness, and with that, old energies begin to move out.

Week 3: The Turning Point

Routine: By now, everything feels more natural. Your alignment is better. Your breathing is deeper. You start to feel something new experience.

What you might feel: This is often the most empowering week. You might lead your first practice session. Your confidence starts growing. You realize: “Wow, I can do this.” At the same time, some students may feel tired, or face a second emotional wave. This is all part of the purification process.

Advice from me: Trust the process. If you’re tired, rest. If you’re inspired, go deeper. It’s all valid.

Week 4: Integration & Empowerment

Routine: Final teaching practice, exam prep, feedback sessions. You’ll likely teach a full class (or at least a segment) to your peers.

What you might feel: A mix of pride, joy, sadness, and clarity. You’ve grown — not just in knowledge, but in presence. There might be tears on the last day, hugs all around, and promises to stay in touch.

Advice from me: Honor this version of you. You’ve earned it. And remember: your TTC isn’t the end — it’s the beginning of a lifelong path.

Final Thoughts:

Your first Yoga TTC will challenge you — physically, emotionally, spiritually. But if you stay with it, it can also transform you in ways you never expected. Not just into a teacher, but into a more honest, grounded, and connected version of yourself.

If you’d like help finding a TTC in India or Bali that aligns with your energy, intention, and budget, I’m here for that. Book a free 60-minute call with me, and I’ll listen deeply before guiding you.

The right course can change your life. And I want you to find it — with clarity and confidence.
